Windows95 Error Message Help

Windows 95 Error Message : "Dial-Up Networking could not negotiate a compatible set of network protocols you specified in the Server Type settings. Check your network configuration in the Control Panel then try the connection again."

Possible Cause : The Dialup Networking connection you are trying to use is damaged

Possible Solution : Reinstall the connection.

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.

  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.

  3. Delete the connection in question.
  4. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.

  5. Under Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type APT.Net

  6. Click the Next button.
  7. In the Area code and Telephone number text boxes, type your local APT.Net access number.
  8. Click the Next button.

  9. Click the Finish button.

  10. Click the APT.Net icon.
  11. From the File menu bar, choose Properties.

  12. Click the Server Type button.

  13. Uncheck Log on to network.
  14. Uncheck NetBEUI.
  15. Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
  16. Click the OK button.
